Darjeeling combines British Elegance and Indian Flavor. It is flared like Optima, with a scent of Bodoni. By layering “Regular” and “Ornaments” over each other you will create astounding pieces of multi-color typography. Additionally there is “Regnaments” which combines the two other styles.Darjeeling is great as a display font, but also perfectly legible at text sizes. Use the ornaments only to add spice to Your design.
Make sure to use applications supporting OpenType in order to enjoy all the lavish features like small caps, various sets of figures, fractions and the 102 discretionary ligatures.
About the designer:
Facetype was founded in 2008 in Vienna by Marcus Sterz and Andrej Waldegg. While Andrej still works mainly as a graphic designer, Marcus totally concentrates on type design. Their successful with such fonts like Strangelove™, Ivory™ (with Georg Herold-Wildfellner) and Aeronaut™ (Georg Herold-Wildfellner) and new additions like Marlowe. With fonts like Ivory, Slug and Motto they have been pursuing the idea of making multicolored fonts, by offering 2 or more fonts you can combine through overlaying them.
