Novel Sans Pro is the new humanist grotesque typeface family matching the award-winning serif typeface Novel Pro, which was recognized by the Type Directors Club of New York, awarding Novel with the Certificate of Excellence in Type Design in 2009. The German Ministry of Economy and Technology also nominated Novel for the Design Prize of Germany 2010.
Novel Sans' carefully attuned character design, well balanced contrast and classic proportions show many similarities with the serif version and enable designers to combine those two families and reach highest quality in typography. Novel Sans Pro initially was designed for the use in editorial design but can be used for nearly every possible application.
Novel Sans Pro comes in 6 weights and contains small caps, an extra set of alternate glyphs, many ligatures, lining and hanging ?gures, small caps figures, positive and negative circled ?gures for upper and lower case, superior and inferior ?gures, fractions, extensive language support, arrows for uppercase and lowercase and many more OpenType features.About the designer:
Büro Dunst is an independent font foundry and design studio based in Berlin, Germany. Dedicated to fine typography, the studio works on typefaces for both retail and custom purposes, as well as on applied typography projects such as editorial, corporate and brand design.
Christoph Dunst is a graphic and type designer living and working in Berlin, Germany. He studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in The Hague, The Netherlands, where he graduated with a degree in graphic and typographic design and a master’s in type design. The studio he founded in The Hague in 2006 moved to Berlin in 2009 and was renamed Büro Dunst. In 2009 the Type Directors Club of New York awarded the Certificate of Excellence in Type Design to his Novel font family. The German Ministry of Economy and Technology also nominated Novel for the Design Prize of Germany 2010.
