Bello is a brush typeface for headlines - it’s big and beautiful. After a period of sketching and hand-lettering, it was decided to give Bello two distinct styles: script and small caps. These two variations create a strong typographic contrast - while the script is flourished and flowing, the small capitals are upright and sturdy. As sturdy as brush lettering allows, of course. Careful spacing and kerning ensures that Bello appears like fluid handwriting. As well, Bello comes with a set of 64 ligatures. Some of them are purely typographic and other were created simply to afford a more intimate, natural impression. Ornaments and a set of snap-on lowercase swashes complete the mix. Also included are the Bello Words fonts, a set of stylistic, layered dingbats, consisting of 62 common English words. Set them along with the script or small caps faces to add extra interest to your layouts.The swashes and ligatures are automatically inserted when using Bello Pro, the cross-platform OpenType font with many extended typographic features. Bello is also available in TrueType flavoured OpenType format for Windows and PostScript Type 1 format for Mac. Bello includes an extended European character set.

About the designers:
Underware is a (typo)graphic design studio which specializes in the creation and production of typefaces. Underware provides typographic workshops for schools and conferences, creates and distributes design-related publications, and produces websites and custom logotypes for a variety of commercial customers. They also ride bikes instead of driving cars, preach love, play soccer, take sauna baths, and jump into lakes. Underware was founded in 1999 by Akiem Helmling, Bas Jacobs, and Sami Kortemäki and is based in Amsterdam, Den Haag, and Helsinki. Three men, one mission: blow away the dust from type design by throwing it into the street.
